Although I am thankful for clean, drinkable water, I am also thankful for controls over unwanted water. This week we are sympathetic with the folks who perished or who were severely impacted by flooding in Colorado. Having lived through several flooding situations since 1987 in my hometown of Elmhurst, I am grateful that the County and the city of Elmhurst continue to take measures to control flood waters.
